What are you an expert in?

  • Personal awareness, using the Centaur model, including coaching and personal effectiveness.

  • Improving team effectiveness - both procedural and interpersonal issues.

  • Development and assessment centres.

  • Managing pressure and change.

What is it you are currently thinking about/care about in the world of work?
How people manage themselves and their work/life balance.
I believe that many organisations still do not understand that people will be more effective in the workplace if they have a balanced lifestyle.
People must keep a healthy mind and body to be effective. Many companies expect their employees to work very long hours and travel a great deal, without making allowances for the effect this has on them. People must have a life outside of the workplace.
What would you like to see change in organisations?
I would like to see organisations place an equal importance on task and people. Many organisations place full emphasis on task.
What is special about Praxis?
Praxis has a true value base, which is open, honest and operates with integrity. It is not afraid to challenge the ‘norm’. The people involved are passionate about their work and they have fun.
Why does the programme you teach at Praxis matter in business?
The delegates leave with an understanding of how they operate in a team and how to make an effective team. They have been challenged in an integral and caring manner.
They also review how they operate in the world and investigate what more they could be, at a level way below their ego. This wider, more rounded, wholesome, more effective person they take into the world - and, therefore, in to business.
How would you describe your teaching style?
Enthusiastic, versatile, relaxed.
