Praxis Customised Programmes
What are you an expert in?
Body and mind: the different ways people hold tension in their bodies and the emotional reasons for this; how to explore this so a person can relax and live more of who they are.
What is it you are currently thinking about/care about in the world of work?
I care that organisations discover that the emotional and physical wellbeing of their individuals has a huge impact on how productive they are able to be.
I care even more that organisations believe that it is important to support this wellbeing, not primarily for financial success, though that`s important, but because it is ethically right action.
What would you like to see change in organisations?
I would like to see organisations move towards a more ethical evaluation of what they do.
I would like human beings in their workplaces to regard one another with more respect and interest, for the differences between them.
What is special about Praxis?
Praxis genuinely looks for both the potential and the depth in people. Our programmes are based on a belief in people`s courage and their wish to express more of who they can be.
These programmes are not afraid to go way beyond orthodox management training - into the challenging areas of feelings, ethics and the spirit - yet they relate pragmatically to the workplace.
Why does the programme you teach at Praxis matter in business?
The programmes I teach at Cranfield matter in business because they give people insights about themselves and about others. This makes space for exploring more of their potential, which is exhilarating and liberating. It helps them approach colleagues with greater interest and respect. It enables improved performance all round, and is an ethical basis for living and working.
How would you describe your teaching style?
Relaxed, warm, interactive.

Work Experience
Seven years teaching in school, where I discovered that tension stops children learning.
Removing it helps them to fly.
Seven years running my own accredited school of massage and aromatherapy; helping to build bridges between world of complementary health and orthodox medicine.
Ten years of therapeutic work with individuals, where I came to respect, and be excited by, people`s capacity to find their own answers.
Nine years lecturing and facilitating at Cranfield, working with managers in the areas of emotional intelligence, and stress and wellbeing. The best bit is seeing a group of individuals, even strangers, come to regard one another with real respect and care, once they have seen past one another`s facades. The workplace needs more of this.
Interests
Family; modern fiction; cooking; sailing in hot places.
