Work Experience
1980-1992: British Telecom
At the corporate headquarters: designing and running assessment and development centres.
Initiating strategic training directions and programmes.
At the London offices: Management Trainer, initiating and delivering management development programmes.
Head of District Personnel Development, with a 5,000-customer base, covering management and technical training, succession planning, team building and coaching programmes.
For BT’s worldwide networks: internal consultancy and facilitation, coaching and counselling.
1992-current: Freelance Facilitator, Trainer, Coach and Therapist
I am an independent trainer/facilitator and coach/therapist, with 24 years of personnel experience in the areas of management training and development, psychological assessment, consultancy, one-to-one counselling and coaching. I am particularly interested in helping people see themselves more clearly, including their unwitting contributions to the problems they are trying to solve. I work to help individuals and teams take decisions more clearly, and become, therefore, more effective. I especially enjoy working directly with individuals and small teams who wish to change.
I am very interested in working with individuals to develop leadership characteristics and qualities. We all have them within us, but sometimes we stop them being expressed.
I have worked for a large variety of organisational clients throughout Europe in the public and private sectors.
I have helped individuals and teams to develop their learning objectives.
I first encountered the work done by Praxis at Cranfield 20 years ago. I was captured by its integrity and by its imaginative application of pragmatic management tools to the workplace. I have been involved with the Centaur model since 1986.
